China independently developed the first fluoroquinolone antibacterial drug

International Online News (Reporter Wei Ning): The Chinese Academy of Sciences announced on the 31st that it has successfully developed the innovative drug "Ametoxacin Hydrochloride." This is China's first fluoroquinolone antibiotic with independent intellectual property rights.

Fluoroquinolones are currently one of the three major types of antibacterial drugs in China, with a market size of approximately RMB 10 billion. Prior to this, China's use of such drugs could only rely on imports. The scientific and technical personnel of the Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences, after 16 years of hard work, finally completed the research and development and clinical trials of the new drug “Antoxacin Hydrochloride”. At present, this drug has been awarded a new drug certificate issued by China's State Food and Drug Administration and will be available soon.

Studies have shown that "Ametoxacin Hydrochloride" has been used to treat bacterial infections in the three major systems of the respiratory tract, urinary tract, and soft tissues of the skin. The efficacy is definite and there are few adverse reactions.
