When to choose Vinyl Banner Or Fabric Flag For Event Signage ?

Banner printing is a staple in many print shops, and vinyl was the go-to for years. However, fabric is a top trend lately that customers demand these two years. While fabric used for banners has some advantages, vinyl is still the top option in many circumstances. We put together this quick hit list on when to choose which media for the best event banner results:

1. Environment. Asking your customer where the banner will be displayed and what the ambiance is are the two most important questions to help you deliver the best banner for their expectations. If the weather is wind, and banner fluttering in the air , then please choose the fabric as banner , it is very light and soft . If you want to tie the banner into the fence , please choose the vinyl banner . It will not create any noise .

2. Quantity : If the quantity is very large ,and for short showing outside (several months , or even one week ) , we suggest to use fabric banner , its cost will be much better with screen printing with big quantity. It will greatly reduce your cost . And light fabric material will be with lower shipping cost . double-sided, opaque banner. Fabric can also be sewn for the same effect, and will typically need a hem to prevent fraying . The cost of vinyl banner with stitched edge and grommets will be higher than fabric banner with hemmed edge . That is for vinyl banner is too thick to stitch , it will need longer production time .

4. Printing Effect : Single side printing vinyl banner is one side with full color printing and other side will be in white color . But for normal fabric banner , it is mirror effect . You can see the printed image through the fabric .

5. Durability / Quality : Vinyl banner is much better than fabric banner , but fabric banner can be washed . Vinyl banner will be curled edge, and vinyl banner can not be folded ( or it will be easy be broken in the folded area ) , but fabric banner can be folded into very small size and the folded line will disappear soon once open .

Vinyl banner will have a pungent odor with the eco-solvent ink . But fabric with heat transfer printing has no the bad odor.
